The construction sites map can be viewed on the Geoportal. With the help of icons, the map provides an overview of current and planned construction sitesand no-stopping zones in Munich, each of which will cause restrictions on driving, walking and parking over the next two to six weeks. There are also three images of construction sites and road traffic.

With the "Construction Sites Service Map" all construction sites and temporary disruptions in the public road space by Stadtwerke München (SWM; Munich City Utilities), Münchner Verkehrsgesellschaft (MVG; Munich Transport Company), the construction department of the City of Munich, Münchner Stadtentwässerung (MSE; Munich’s Sanitation Company), and private developers, are visible online at a glance. The focus is on all measures within the Mittlerer Ring and on the main roads.

The portal displays the disruptions for the next two, four, or six weeks. To access stored information on construction sites and stopping restrictions, simply click on the symbol or the area. The public construction sites portal provides transparent information on the restrictions in place, the reason for them, and their expected duration.

Contribution to the digitalization of municipal transport systems

The integration of data from various city administration systems enables the integration of data with very different structures and content on construction sites and other measures in the public road space. This integration allows for the provision of a daily update of the current construction sites situation, as well as the creation of long-term planning tools that can be accessed and utilized online in various applications.

Contribution to air pollution control / clean air in the City of Munich

The transparent presentation of disruptions on public roads in the City of Munich's GeoPortal enables citizens to recognize these at an early stage and take appropriate measures. For instance, pollution levels can be reduced by avoiding stop-and-go phases and additional detours, or by utilizing local public transportation. Furthermore, the system facilitates centralized construction site coordination from the planning phase onwards, with the objective of reducing the number of construction sites as much as possible in the future.

Perspective of the action

The Digital Twin serves as the foundation for the digitalization of construction site coordination and the development of the construction sites map. It also paves the way for the connection of additional IT systems, automated integration of data from external platforms (Mobilithek), and the integration of sensor data (GPS and IoT-supported construction site barriers or floating car data).
