City-wide planning of major public roadworks to reduce traffic disruption using the access-protected platform for coordinating construction sites.
Through centralized construction site management, Munich's municipal administration is able to plan upcoming public construction measures on the streets and coordinate them in terms of time and space. This avoids an accumulation of construction site installations, which minimizes the potential impact on residents and disruption to road traffic. The focus here is on all construction measures within the central ring road and along the main roads. By consolidating all planned construction measures in public spaces in a single platform, spatial or temporal conflicts between the plans of the various project organizers from the administration, municipal utilities and MVG can be identified at an early stage and jointly coordinated. Furthermore, planned construction measures can be combined, if necessary, to minimize the impact on road traffic. To use the protected platform, it is necessary to first register with the system. It is then available to the project organizers for the planning and coordination of construction measures. The data on current and planned construction measures in public spaces is available in the Munich Digital Twin and forms the basis of the construction sites service map.
